Hyundai Tate Research Centre: Transnational and Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (MUAC), through its Extraordinary Lectures Series on Critical Museology and on Aesthetics, Politics, and Critical Historiography of Contemporary Art in México and Latin America, are pleased to announce their joint digital collaboration Constellations: Indigenous Contemporary Art from the Americas.
Constellations is a digital forum that will feature projects by artists, curators, academics and museum professionals that critically discuss the notion of indigenous contemporary art through a comparative perspective. Hosted on MUAC’s microsite, content will be uploaded on a biweekly basis starting on October 13. This forum will also serve as a digital repository, containing keynote addresses, panel discussions, essays, videoconferences and studio visits that analyze the relationship between indigeneity and contemporary art through three thematic lines: Geopoetics, Chronotopes and Enunciations.
Geopoetics
Geopoetics reflects on indigenous practices through a critique of the discourse of colonial belonging. In these cases, the territorial order of the nation-state is reconfigured around notions of indigenous sovereignties.

Chronotopes
Chronotopes explores the relationship between ancestrality and future, observing the discursive formations of contemporary Indigenous art and tracing trajectories of racialization and class struggle.

Enunciations
Enunciations critically examines the epistemic universes and ideological complicities that have contributed to shaping theories and practices regarding the notion of indigeneity.
