Story Space

A place for all to read, imagine, tell stories and play

Featuring a library of books by authors who are Black, Indigenous and people of colour from around the world, Story Space celebrates books that centre authors and children of colour, aiming for everyone to see themselves reflected in the books they read.

Read to yourself, to someone else, with each other, out loud. Once you’ve discovered some new stories, tell your own story through our dress-up and drawing activities!

Read Aloud Sessions

Our free Read Alouds usually happen on the 1st Saturday of the month at 14.00.

In June, as we are programming events linked to the Queer and Now festival (Saturday 10 June), there will be no Read Aloud on the 1st Saturday of the month.

Upcoming Read Alouds:

  • 1 July - John Agard
  • 2 September - Lucy Farfort

Please note that Read Alouds are sometimes BSL interpreted, please check the individual event webpages for more information.
