Play Studio

Play Studio is informed by the kit used by creative play therapists when working with children. It was devised by Tate’s Early Years’ and Families’ Learning team. The Procession by Hew Locke has inspired our choice of materials and ways of making in Play Studio. The first iteration of Play Studio during the summer’s was made possible with the support of Mr and Mrs Gilberto Pozzi.

During school holidays, the following artists worked with families to create processions of their own: Albert Potrony, Harold Offeh, Davinia-ann Robinson, Safia El Dabi, Raju Rage, Shayanna Dyer-Harris (Kinetika Bloco), India Harvey, Laura X Carlé. You may find traces of these workshops in the Studio.

Tate Britain's step-free entrance is on Atterbury Street. It has automatic sliding doors and there is a ramp down to the entrance with central handrails.

The Exhibition is on the Main floor of the gallery. There is a lift to the main floor, or alternatively you can take the stairs

• Accessible and standard toilets are located on the Lower floor.
• A Changing Places toilet is not currently available.
• Ear defenders can be borrowed from the ticket desk on the Lower floor.
